How do I remove custom ringotnes from my iphone?

I tried delting them from my ringtone list in itunes and then syncing, but they are still on my iphone, only when I click them no sound is played. Also whenever I click sync that little beac ball appears for a few seconds. How do I fix this?

How did you install the ringtones on there to begin with? Was it through iTunes or using some other application like iToner? Or was it done via MeCCA patch?

Maybe you have remnants in your .plist file that hold the ringtones, just need to get in there and delete them.
