iPhone manual backup?

Can anyone tell me how would I go about moving all the image and sound files from the iPhone to a folder on my computer?--In case I want to replace just some specific ones after I've modded my phone, without having to do a full restore.

Oh, and I'm a PPC user.

Thanks!

-Shawn

Use the command getfile in iphone interface. Or you can even copy using SSH.

I can't use iPhoneInterface because it's Intel only. Also, I'm pretty new at this--I know how to use getfile to put stuff ON the iPhone, I want to copy stuff to my computer FROM the iPhone. I'm just not sure how to specify which direction the files are moving, but I'm really good at following a tutorial!

iPHUC works, but there's no mass dump option. If you just want a stock backup, you can check the Wiki for instructions on how to mount the restore dmg, which has all the stock files in it.

mmmmmmmmmmm pf changs...........

So theoretically, I could copy all of my iphone folders into a file on my computer using ssh, so then when the next update comes and forces me to restore I could just simply replace those key folders with the ones on my hard drive to get all my mods back right away??? Of course I would have to re install the ssh client on the iphone first, but that is simple enough.... hmmmmmmm

I guess that would be assuming they dont change too much with the next update....
