Modify text message/Email tones and notifications?

I searched all over for a mod to do this and didn't find anything. I would like to change my text notification to a ringtone.

Any ideas would be great.

just replace /System/Library/Audio/UISounds/sms-received.caf with the ringtone you want

Technically correct but just to clarify....

You need to convert your ringtone into an aif formatted sound file. Then replace the .aif extension with .caf
