I successfully modded my iphone ring tones yesterday. (the only mod i i did)

Today I plugged my phone into my mac and itunes and did the update. The phone crashed upon install update. I lost all my contacts. Anyone else have this issue?

pretty sure you can't update a modded iPhone.
I restored to version 1.0 before I applied the update.
I heard from a few people that the verify software pass during the update process causes problems with modded iPhones.

You do know that iTunes keeps backups, yes?

You can update from a modded phone. It takes longer but you can. It doesn't do anything to the phone. Only down fall is that you can't mod until someone comes out with a new iPhoneInterface.

Yes my friend has this same incident, he lost all his information... I couldnt find anyway to recover it.

I have updated, jailbreak and iphoneinterface work fine.

that was posted on that dev wiki that they didnt work but i think it's bull
