getfile for os x

Ok guys, if you're like me and use OS X, you were envious of the windows guys that use getfile to actually get files off their iPhones. Well, be envious no more. They've finally released getfile for os x. So here's how you do it:

If you've got the phonedmg folder with main.cpp, the makefile, Mobiledevice.h, etc. in it, then just download this file, unzip it, and replace the files in phonedmg with the ones in the Archive folder. Then type the following in a terminal:

make -f Makefile.osx

It will compile your new iPhoneInterface and replace the old one with it. I've already tried this and it works. Be warned though, if you mistype a filename, it actually adds the new filename to the system...like touch in unix.

I'm guessing you need the developer tools installed?

Can you just zip up your files?

Okay, if someone could test this, it seemed to compile just fine. Just extract and put in your phonedmg folder.

so does this no longer work for mac os x ppc? I tried downloading the already compiled version and I got the cannot execute binary file error. Any ideas on what to do?

i had getfile for osx... there is 2 versions of iphoneinterface ou there... one is newer w/ getfile
