It only takes a short time. Just load itunes, plug in, select restore and restore to 1.1.4. After the restore, I always setup as new.

i've been attempting to restore my phone, however, the process always freezes at "restoring iphone software" after the green bar reaches the end.

Have you tried a different usb port? Or, try it on a different computer? What software did you use to do the jailbreak?

Shut down and restart the computer. Select another usb port. If that does not work and another computer is not available, you may need to put it in DFU mode to get it to restore.

Do I understand that you use windows instead of a Mac?
