iPhone 1.1.1 Ringtones

I havent yet upgraded to 1.1.1 yet, but I hear you cant SFTP your ringtones onto the phone and have them work. I thought this might be worth a try, but keep in mind Im basing it on nothing and Im not exactly an expert on how this stuff works.

Copy over one of the ringtones already on your phone.
Open it with Amadeus or whatever sound editing software you use.
Cut the sound (the sound waves or whatever it shows) from the file and paste some other sound in there.
Save it as another name and SFTP it back to the phone.

Currently, I dont beleive there are any free programs to put ringtones onto 1.1.1 so I guess this is worth a shot if you have some free time.

If this works, by some miracle, please PM me, and also dont steal credit for it

I'd like to know if chancre's method works - I'm using the latest itunes, and I assume that his method bypasses itunes altogether. I'm not gonna upgrade to 1.1.1 until I KNOW i can have my ringtones on it.
