Default PC to OS X Help?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I have an iPhone synced to a decrepit Toshiba and just bought a MacBook. What is the least painfull way to transfer my contacts, music and videos?

Contacts: Just sync the iPhone to the macBook. Contacts don't erase or overwrite - they merge

Music and video is a bit tougher. They are specific to the machine you sync with. If you have a network, move them over the network to the macbook (Your MacBook can read windows) . otherwise maybe a USB drive?

You can edit them there, add. delete, whatever then next time you sync any changes made there and in the iPhone will be merged tween the 2

Thanks for the help but now I can't seem to get any music to sync.

I restored twice and it still won't sync my music.
