Exclamation Cydia: This device has SHSH's on file for iPhone OS/iOS 4.0, 4.01

my iphone 3G is on 3.1.2
Cydia is displaying "This device has SHSHs on file for iPhone OS/iOS 4.0, 4.01"
i remember clicking on "make my life easier" on Cydia.
now, i was just wondering why i have SHSH's for 4.0 and 4.0.1
if i never upgraded my 3.1.2?????

however, i am planning to update it on OS 4. is it safe for me to upgrade? will i get a copy of SHSH 3.1.2 after upgrading it?
What if after upgrading to OS4 can i downgrade it to 3.1.2 anytime?
    please help me out. thanks!

It doesn't matter what firmware you are on for SHSH, it matters what firmware apple is signing when you get cydia to ask for your SHSH blobs. If cydia says it has SHSH for you for 4.0 and 4.0.1 then you can restore to those firmwares, you will not be able to go back to 3.1.2 since you don't have SHSH for it and it is way too late to get them now. If you want to go to 4.0/4.0.1 you can follow my guide here:http://modmyi.com/forums/general/725...e-restore.html
