apps not working

i just upgraded to 3.0 with carrier settings of 5.0 i can do mms and internet tethering but none of my add on apps from cydia or app store wont work the act like they lanch but then return to home screen any ideas?

After you jailbroke your phone, did you sync from a back up or set up as new phone?

sync from back up but even the new apps that i add wont work

That is most likely your problem. With 3.0 syncing from a back up has caused 90% of the problems people are having.
I would suggest restore/re-JB set up as new phone. Sync with iTunes when your finished to get contacts and music.
