Ambrosia iToner 1.0
Ambrosia software released an app that supposedly "enables you to quickly transfer custom ringtones for your iPhone - without modifying, hacking or having to reset your iPhone. Simply drag and drop"
Sounds great, too bad it's shareware!

Works on PPC too. Nice... peeps will be happy. I wonder if this requires a jailbroken iPhone?

According to Ambrosia, it does not require a phone to be jailbroken. In fact, they claim that after a firmware update, all the ringtones will be safe and no restore will be forced on the phone due to no jailbreaking.
I haven't tried it myself yet, cause like ... 15 bucks.. sheesh. But that's Ambrosia's claim on the website.

You could also use Ringtones instead, which does the same process, and is free. Works on all macs. It was made by SA goon Excitebike. Works just like advertised, it basically uses the same process iTunes would use to transfer the ringtone. Once iTunes releases official ringtone support, these methods won't work I think.

I was actually going to post about this app, just read up on it elsewhere. Ambrosia is a great company, they've been making great Mac apps & games for many years.
Like others, I'm curious what they've got going on under the hood there, I'm hoping that they aren't using any of the GPL code that others have done, but if they have a new way of doing things, more power to them.

Does anybody know here if you can also change the SMS ringtone with iToner as you can with iFuntastic?
