Free Ringtone Utility for Windows
I just finished the initial release of the iRinger app. Now you can upload ringtones via SSH or manually via manzana or you favorite iphone utility. This program takes most of the work out of creating ringtones for the new firmware.
NOTE: In order to use the SSH you need to have your phone jailbreaked and have SSH installed on your phone(either dropbear or OpenSSH from installer.app).

same here
but ive downloaded stuff before...veocon, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.Last edited by veocon; 10-18-2007 at 11:07 AM.

It just keeps giving me an error saying that it cannot connect to the phone, check to see if it has a valid ip is all it keeps saying.....
okay, i did it the old fashioned way, manually, and I'm getting the same issues i had before... great program though...
Guess I'll just have to wait and see what the criteria is that is causing all the problems...Last edited by Hurley; 10-18-2007 at 05:03 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

the format for your IP Address is not right. It only lets you put this format 000.000.000.000 when clearly mine is like 000.000.0.000 it makes you put 3 numbers in each location....thats why it reading incorrect IP

i placed the files in manually, but it still seems to only play random files. some play, some are just blank. easy program for creating files and the plist though. saves a lot of time from having to type everything out. thanks!

my question is, if you have downloaded legitimate ringtones, will this erase them, or just add to them?

As I understand it, this particular program will only upload the ringtone.plist file if you have a jailbroken phone.
If not, you need to use a program like iPhonebrowser to upload the new ringtones.plist file and associated media files.
To your specific question, this program will not erase your purchased ringtones, but if you upload the file it generates, it will overwrite the playlist that "poitns" to those purchased ringtones.
In short, they won't play.
You would need to add the xml from the .plist that iTunes generates to the .plist that this program generates to make both purchased and custom tones accessible at the same time.
It's doable...I did it last night...but its a pain.
