Hey Guys (and Gals), I made these icons today...let me know what you think. I say these in a picture of the new 3G iPhone. I had never played with photoshop and it took me a sec (not to mention on my first "successful" attempt I made it G3 instead.) Beer and Dyslexia. Anyhow, let me know what you think. I'm gonna fool a few of my friends and send them a screenshot. Let them think I got a new 3G pre-releasse. I'm not a pro nor do i portray myself to be. Just thought I'd share. First mod I made myself. Thanks!!

Either SSH or use iPhonebrowser ( I use the latter) and drag and drop the icons into your /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app

Let me know if you need more detailed instructions. It took me a while to figure this stuff out. I don't know much but I'll share what i DO know!

Make sure the B/W icon is named FSO_EDGE_ON.png and the colored one Default_EDGE_ON.png

Make sure the name is EXACTLY llike that. Capitals and lowercase and .png is in lower case. REally kicked my a** for a while until i figured that out! Enjoy!

I've been trying all morning but I cant get the font right. I can change it as long as I can figure out a way to replace 'Edge' with 3G. Any suggestions anyone??

Again!, Im totally new at this. I have Photoshop CS2 and ImageReady CS2... Very limited knowlege of either one...Oh, yeah, Im on a PC...XP..

Any help will be appreciated!

i think it's helvetica bold

i changed it to helvetica regular and it looks like the real deal

Can this be done with the wifi icons also?
