*TUTORIAL: HOW TO MAKE 'GLASS ORB' ICONS USING PHOTOSHOP (You asked for it, so here it is)
(FYI, I have Photoshop CS3, but all older versions are the same as far as
this tutorial is concerned)
1. Turn on some music cus this is going to be real boring..I recommend any album by Prince

2. Save and unzip the provided .rar file below...start Photoshop and 'open' the provided "Blank_Orb.png" and "Background.png"
3. Select the "Background.png" and with the 'move tool', move it into the "Blank_Orb.png". You will now have both images within the same layer, but as separate layers..make sure the "Blank_Orb.png" layer is on top of the "Background.png" layer.
4. Choose 'Save as' and save as .PSD file (photshop)..now you can use this as your template everytime you make icons so you don't have to go through steps 1-4 in the future..however, step 1 is always recommended
5. 'open' whatever image/icon you are making..we will call it "icon.png" for this tutorial. I find all my images by doing a google image search for 'whatever png'...I don't always use the original app icons, but I try and find ones that represent it well and look the best! Most of the time I just like making my own.
6. Go to Images>Adjustments>Desaturate, or Shift+CTRL+U...This will turn your icon.png into a black and white one, assuming it is in color.
7. You will have to resize your "icon.png" so it fits inside of the blank orb. Do this by selecting the 'move tool' and then just manually dragging one of the corners until it looks relatively close in size, then Press enter to accept size change/adjustments...we will refine the size in the next step.
8. Drag your "icon.png" into the "Blank_Orb.psd"..make sure it is the middle layer between the blank orb and the black background images. Now you can refine the size of the "icon.png" by selecting that layer and adjusting it until it's perfectly centered within the orb. Press enter to accept size change/adjustments.
HINT: It helps to magnify the entire .psd file to 300% so you can see everything better. It will appear blurry and pixelated, but don't worry, be happy

9. Remove the layer visibility on the black background layer...click on the little eyeball icon on the left side of that layer. This will remove the black background so it's not visible when you save your final image.
MORE HINTS: Sometimes I use the Layer>Layer style>Outer Glow option to add a white glow behind the image to make it stand out more or to hide unsmoothe outer edges on certain icons. You can turn on the visibility of the black background to see how it will appear, and then just adjust it until you're satisfied.
10. Go to file>save as>format>.PNG..basically, you want to save as .png..make sure you name the .png exactly as it appears on your iphone/touch (case sensitive), or it will not replace the original icon. If a PNG Options box opens when saving, select 'none'(default), and click 'ok'.
11. That's it!! Turn up the music and do your "I just made my own glass orb icon" dance!
There are a few other tools I use in photoshop when making icons, i.e. blur tool, magic wand, crop tool, brightness and contrast etc., but these are the basics that should get you well on your way to becoming a glass orb icon making master!!
Hope this tutorial helps..cheers
P.S. If you do make icons for this theme, please share them with the rest of us so I can add them to future updates via Cydia
