how did you make the jerseys like that, i want to make a capitals theme and i cant make any good icons

I see the theme data at /private/var/stash/Themes.fhPaLB/Detroit Red Wings/Icons
but is that were I put the .png files that you created?
I presently have a number of black icons, which I'd naturally like to replace.
Sorry if this is a newbie question, but hey, I'm a newbie
