Been using ichabber a bit and so far, it is rock solid in terms of stability.
It does though take time to recognize when a connection has been dropped, or terminated, but, am not getting any crashing like what I was getting with both mobilechat and apolloIM.
What would be a nice feature to add is the ability to delete the perpetual history in a conversation.
Perpetual history, as even after you log out, and log back in, or even restart the iphone, the conversation history is kept fully intact!

Looking good. Good work. Keep updating.
Add Jabber support
(IS there an app out yet that supports Jabber?)

Looks good so far! Nice start.
Is there any potential for a daemon mode such that sessions stay open after the app is closed? Protocols like AIM and Yahoo! would work best with that.

It freezes for me. Once I open a contact to start chatting I can't do anything. Can't even go back.

I would hardly call this the best out there. MobileChat is much better and easier to use, but it lacks gtalk.

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.
