[Release] Torrentula v1.2 BitTorrent Client
Hello People. You are welcome to download Torrentula v1.2, a bitTorrent client for the iPhone/iTouch.
To install add this source to your Installer:
http://itouch.rockt.es/repo.xml
Thanks for hosting albert_$n :)
Requirements:
* Jiggy Runtime: Install the newest Jiggy Runtime first from the installer. If you don't see it listed in installer, add http://jiggyapp.com/i to your installer sources.
* BSD Subsystem: Most users will already have this.
* A way to download .torrent files onto your device: Use the HistoryDL.app (recommended) or the Safari Download Plugin to get .torrent files onto your device with mobile safari.
Manual Installation: Place Torrentula.app into your Applications folder on your iPhone/Touch. Make sure permissions for the Torrentula.app folder and everything in it are set to 777.
Use: Download .torrent files to your device with the HistoryDL.app (recommended) or the Safari Download Plugin into the mobile (or root)/Downloads folder. The program will scan your mobile (or root)/Downloads folder for new torrent files, and will import any valid torrent files regardless of their filename or extension. When a torrent has finished downloading from peers it will be automatically moved to mobile (or root)/Media/Downloads when selected. Note: Torrents continue downloading even when program is closed. A device restart can often activate/fix stubborn torrents.
Viewing Downloaded Media: There are many solutions for playing/viewing downloaded content. Optimo's AVPlayer.app is super cool.
The program drives the GNU open source Transmission engine ported to the iphone by 'core' at wickedpsyched.net and runs through the Jiggy Runtime by PsyKoh, LLC et.al.
I am currently rewriting the app with the toolchain and will release an update soon. Suggestions and ideas are welcome.
Bug Tracker: Sometimes download progress on pause will report 0% if the torrent was paused while "Trying to start..." . When torrent is started up again the proper progress will be restored.
Cheers!

Fantastic - I'm downloading it as we speak. Will let you know how I go.
EDIT: Ah, thanks for pointing that out. As per post below, I've symlinked the two folders so now they all goto the one Downloads directory.
Would be great to have the feature to change this folder though

Its not the /var/root/Downloads directory but rather /var/mobile/Downloads/. Would it be possible to add an option to select a different location for the searching for torrent files? Both HistoryDL and the safari plugin dont save in this directory.
Works great for me btw. Im on 1.1.3

Yeah, I'd like an option to change the auto-monitor directory as well. I'm sure this would be quick and easy to add
As my quick work around, I made the /var/root/Downloads directory symlink to the /var/mobile/Downloads directory.

Yeh, I downloaded a torrent tracker with the safari plugin but Torrentula doesnt see it. I changed all permissions just incase it was that. I put the tracker in var/root and var/mobile and it doesnt see either...
I noticed that in SSH it shows the filepath for both of those download folders as private/var/mobile instead of just var/mobile is this the problem??? Can you fix this please? Thanks.
Awesome app!

Frickin awesome app. I still can't get HistoryDL to see that I have clicked on the torrent link, just shows the page before it.
Can't wait to see the progress with this app. A way to get the iphone to accept a direct download would make all the world of difference or even a manual way to put the download url in it and the program downloads it
