This doesn't seem to do squat for EDGE. I still get the message cannot connect to an EDGE network, even though it's turned off.. and the little E icon is still there. So what's the frickin point then?? I want those messages and the icon off completely!

I have been using this and it has worked great for me. I travel a lot and was wondering if any future version can include airplane mode in it? this would be a whole lot easier to go to this then the other way. thanks

I have the same issue.

though sometimes, services.app does manage to remove the E from the status bar on top, but it reappears soon thereafter.

Services doesn't turn EDGE off at the baseband level, it merely replaces your programmed APN with 'DISABLED'

Reactivating it, simply replaces DISABLED with the correct APN. EDGE service is never actually shut down.

YES! i installed my SSH via independence not the openSSH on the installer.
it work awesome
my only problem is when disabling edge after a while the edge stays on..

I actually grew a pair and tried it myself. It seems to work fine.
I had some issue with SSH the first time I jailbroke 1.1.1 and had to do the whole process over so I was worried about messing with it the second time around.

Services is a great app! One of the most useful native apps available IMHO.

Do you guys get this. When I turn off edge, then leave the app to say my homescreen and come back to services.app the edge slider shows as ON, when it is really off(confirmed by going into settings). anyone else? for me to turn it back on I need to turn it off again and back on.

Was wondering if you can add feature of turning phone auto lock on/off in services too, that would be great. I always have to go in settings to turn auto lock off then go in services to turn on openssh to ssh into phone. Thanks in advance.
