Missing "Message" app icon

Recently I noticed my Message icon no longer appears on any home screen page. Using the search function can find it and instantiate it, so it still there and working.

I made some Winterboard changes and then uninstalled Winterboard.

No luck.

How do I get the icon back on my home page?

If you have sbsettings installed, you may have 'poofed' it. If you did, go into sbsettings > more > Hide Icons > find the app and flip the switch to on.
