Saurik releases Cydget and CyDialer
Available in Cydia, Cydget (free) and CyDialer ($1.74) are some cool beginnings for lockscreen widgets. They are both ver .9.xx right now and are working great on my 3g[s]. I cannot seem to get the photo example cydget to work, but the others work fine. Saurik has made it clear that this is not a direct competitor for the upcomming SmartScreen app. I recommend that everyone give this a try! And also, Devs, let's see what you can do! :-) There is a LOT of potential here, as this app is so much more powerful than Winterboard, as far as lockscreen is concerned. Would post Screens of it, but alas, I post this from my iPhone..

I cannot get the photo example to work either, nor does the Zotget widget work for me. The only thing that works is the Welcome screen. There is no documentation. This is really a poor way of releasing a promising app. Anyone have any info of how to leverage Cycript scripting?

Yep, that looks like it. Checking it out right now.

Yeah, the photo cydget doesn't work for me either. Looking forward to seeing what developers come up with here!

You have to turn on the photo component under settings - look for cydget and check it on.

Include me as only being able to get the Welcome screen to work. I tweeted to Saurik but haven't heard back.

This is what my settings are that are currently working on my 3GS on 3.1.2.
Settings|Cydget|Lock Cydget Order is set to show PhotoExample and the AwayView.
My photos are being pulled from the Camera Roll directory.
Also, my lock screen is also showing up when I cycle through the views.
Maybe this will help those having problems isolate a cause.

So are the only widgets the ones that come stock with the install so far?

^^ good to know, I'm suprised that CyCript is not a dependency of Cydget, as the photo cydget now works for me.

How do I change the location for the weather in cydget? I cannot find the location of this app anywhere.
I tried following the instructions in the weda panel thread... but I can't find anything in the themes folder.
Edit: Found it....
Edit setting.xml in /System/Library/LockCydgets/Weather.cydget/weda
Location use weather.com.
Edit #2 (merged doublepost)
Does anybody know if there is a way to get LockInfo as a seperate Cydget? Like so I can cycle through to that so it's not always on my lock screen?
I added the lockinfo folder into the cydget app folder.... added .cydget to the end, and it allows me to add it in the cydget app settings. So that does allow me to cycle to the lockscreen with the lockinfo, but it also shows the lockinfo on my basic lock screen (basically it cycles two unlock screens with lockinfo).
Now, I was hoping I could go to the lockinfo settings and turn it off through there and it will still show up in the cydget. So I could have a normal lockscreen (no info), a lockscreen with lockinfo, and the weather cydget. Well the normal lockscreen stayed, but the lockscreen with lockinfo just turned into another normal lockscreen to cycle through (with no lockinfo).
Any idea how to accomplish this?
Also, I've searched around... but are there any other cydgets available yet?

Nice concept but I cannot get it to work. Intelliscreen still on for me. Hopefully this develops further or there are instructions.

Just keep your Lockscreen Info theme. It will automatically register as the AwayView.

Try this. I am now using the htc hero cydget with the time and weather, i like it better. I used ifile to change the settings to get the weather to show my location.
1) go to weather.com and just type the name of the city you want.
2) go to your address bar and the code is there.
example- all you need is the 8 character code in parentheses, yours should look similar. ( USAZ0166 )
.weather.com/weather/local/USAZ0166?lswe=phoenix%20az&lwsa=WeatherLocalUndecl ared&from=searchbox_typeahead]Phoenix]Phoenix]Phoenix Weather Forecast and Conditions Arizona[/url] Weather Forecast and Conditions Arizona*
3) using ifile you will edit the settings.xml- If your using the weda panel you have to change the location code as well as the current zip code. The radar map needs to be changed also, it shows tacoma. I'm not sure ho to do this though.
The htc hero one just gives you the current weather and conditions so you just need to change it once, which is what I want. Its a little faster as well. To change the location code in that one go to
Hope this helps
