PogoPlank - A SpringBoard UI Replacement
Hey guys, I figured I'd start spreading the word about the new app I've been working on the past several weeks: PogoPlank!
We removed SpringBoards "pages of icons" idea and replaced that with a "wheel of categories". Now the best part about this is, unlike the categories app which must be opened to open your app (which is time consuming...), PogoPlank is built right into your SpringBoard interface, so no lag before opening your app.
We're planning on having a demo video on Friday, October 9th 2009 (one week from today) and a release within 48hrs of that! I'll edit and post the exact time when we're more sure of it, but for now, check out the screenshots, post feedback follow us on twitter and come hang out with us in our IRC channel
Pogo Plank :: Boing! Boing! Boing! Boing! Boing! Boing!

ALSO - Designers!
PogoPlank is 100% themeable and works along side WinterBoard. For you guys who love design, we have a challenge for you! Design your idea for a theme and post it (screenshot and PSD) and we will pick the top 3 themes to be packaged with the PogoPlank release! You may even see your theme in the live demo! Download the zip below (includes a psd and xcf for gimp users) and edit it to your liking. The bounds are setup to help guide you. Also, take note, PogoPlank allows users to set their own alphas for your images, so keep them 100% opacity. If you think your theme looks better with a specific opacity, edit that object's alpha in the plist file (included in the zip) and that will be the default settings for your theme. Remember, if you set an opacity, include that in the screenshot you post, but not the PSD. Good luck!
UPDATE
The demo will be Friday at 5pm CST via Qik at http://www.qik.com/Jaywalker - Be there! And tell your friends!!

Will it be able to swap between left and right handed mode? Sorta looks like it's made to be used with the left thumb..

Excellent! I hope this app is as smooth as the graphics! I like the idea of a true GUI mod, such as this. Thank you for the preview!
And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream! Springboard screwy after reboot? Here is the fix

Hopefully it will get a graphical makeover. Looks kinda plain/jagged at this point.
Otherwise, great concept. I have been getting kinda sick of SpringBoard lately, especially after experiencing the whole desktop layout of Android.
