You may noticed in Cydia today there were some upgrades, SMS backgrounds will now work with Winterboard. If you have installed SetWallper and wish to use Winterboard you will have to uninstall SetWallpaper as there is a conflict.

Praise the Devs! To each and every one of you who spend your time writing code and making apps for little or no profit... Its YOU that makes the iPhone great, NOT Apple!! From me to you, a million thanks!!

^ all you need to do is choose a .png image you want to use, name that image SMSBackground and then SSH it into your theme folder. Done. ((The image must also be re-sized to 480x480 to work well in landscape mode as posted above.))

SMS Black theme
Here is an entire theme for SMS that works without SetWallpaper for the background thanks to the new Cydia update and BlkCadi reminding me lol
Just extract this leave the folders as they are and then SSH into your themes folder and drop it in, then respring and go to winterboard and turn it on simple as that!
This will eventually be on Cydia once im happy and it is more complete.
you can find it here:
ChatKit changes folder layout
Enjoy!

If Apple would just understand that if they wouldn't make things like this (setting background and such) harder than it should be, as well as add things that have nothing to do with piracy, people wouldn't need to jailbreak

holy god that was a long sentence!

I wouldnt even use winterboard to change the background, I suggest using this.
Who wants to ssh into their phone everytime they want to change it and then respring.
This mod allows you to change ur background anywhere, anytime and as many times as u want.
thumbs down to wintboard u memory hog :P
