SpotBright

Anyone checked out SpotBright?

Saw it on Cydia this morning and loving it on the 3G-S. Basically is modifies the Apple Spotlight to both keep a history of apps you launch, and also allows hidden apps to be run.

The info posted says they slowly plan to port over all the quickgold features into it.

Launching of hidden apps is the best thing so far, least the stuff thats in categories can be launched.

looks good so far although themed icons don't show up right on the history collection.

Launching the hidden apps is lame, it totally defeats the purpose of the Restrictions in settings.

No one is forcing you to install it. Many people like to be able to launch the hidden apps in this manner. I use categories so I don't have 7 pages of icons. But I still prefer being able to launch the app via a menu, other then having to go into the category.

i absolutely love the idea behind this app, but on my 3gs, it crashes everytime you type 3 letters in spotlight bar. i really hope they fix this, the comments on the cydia page are littered with the same issues, so i'm sure they heard about it yet. but until then, just type 2 letters and scroll till you find it. but overall nice app

Doesn't crash my 3GS no matter how many letters I type.

I like this app too but I am also affected by the MMP Flip not working now. I tried disabling and re-enabling it in Winterboard but I got nothing. I know the MMP Flip I used for 2.2.1 it was never in Winterboard.

Try disabling search for Music in the Spotlight Search Results section in Settings.
