    Don't know why everyone is having so many problems with this. I installed this and had MMS working in no time. All I had to do was put my sim in another phone and have ATT switch me to a media.net plan. Out the sim back in the iphone and sent a MMS no problem...

    Hey Guys,

    as a lot of us, I was having problem with my APN settings, then after a whole day of trying everything I found out this that solved all my problems!

    Check it out MMS on 2G (os3.0) with default SMS/MMS app - Page 5 - Hackint0sh

    It really works flawlessly!

    i confirm that this work flawless also..the trick is when you d/l from cydia,reboot your phone.once the phone comes on,go to the cellular data network then you will see the MMS setting. Once you in that section, scroll down till you see reset settings. click it once then reboot your phone. once the phone comes on again, go back to the cellular data network section to input the information in the MMS settings (btw the APN and the MMS APN got to be the same for order for this to work)once you input the information in the MMS settings, reboot again. now the information in the MMS settings will be saved and should be able to send and receive pictures

    my settings are:

    APN: wap.voicestream.com
    (MMS)APN: wap.voicestream.com
    username: (blank)
    password: (blank)
    MMSC: mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50.8080
    MMS Max Message Size: (blank)
    MMS UA Prof URL: (blank)

    this settings for T-Mobile USA. Im using a 2G with 3.0 FW. only download this if you have a 2G iphone with 3.0 FW

    It works perfectly! Thank you so much!

    Do you think the videorecording also could be enabled on the 2G models? I know there is already this app called Cycorder, but Apple's solution just looks much better. ^^

    For those of you guys who can't save the APN settings, here's the 100% working way.

    After installing and reboot, go settings->general->data cellular network, hit reset settings.

    SSH to /System/Library/Carrier Bundles
    Look for your carrier. e.g. mine is Maxis_my.bundle

    Edit carrier.plist

    Scroll down until you see, (PS: Settings are different between carriers)

    HTML Code:
    <key>MMS</key>
    	<dict>
    		<key>GroupModeEnabled</key>
    		<false/>
    		<key>MMSC</key>
    		<string>http://172.16.74.100:10021/mmsc</string>
    		<key>MaxMessageSize</key>
    		<integer>307200</integer>
    		<key>MaxVideoBitrate</key>
    		<integer>131072</integer>
    		<key>Proxy</key>
    		<string>202.75.133.49:80</string>
    	</dict>
    and

    HTML Code:
    <array>
    		<dict>
    			<key>apn</key>
    			<string>net</string>
    			<key>password</key>
    			<string>wap</string>
    			<key>type-mask</key>
    			<integer>53</integer>
    			<key>username</key>
    			<string>maxis</string>
    		</dict>
    		<dict>
    			<key>apn</key>
    			<string>net</string>
    			<key>password</key>
    			<string>wap</string>
    			<key>type-mask</key>
    			<integer>52</integer>
    			<key>username</key>
    			<string>maxis</string>
    		</dict>
    		<dict>
    			<key>apn</key>
    			<string></string>
    			<key>password</key>
    			<string></string>
    			<key>type-mask</key>
    			<integer>0</integer>
    			<key>username</key>
    			<string></string>
    		</dict>
    	</array>
    Edit the fields (MMSC, Proxy, apn, password, username) to match your carrier settings.

    Save the file, go back settings->general->data cellular network, hit reset settings. This time the settings should be the same as the one you edited in carrier.plist

    Enjoy sending MMS now

    your suggestion did not work for me.. you must have an APN defined somewhere, even if you didn't actively do it.

    This software doesn't remember settings entered by the user on my phone, same as many others. As soon as you leave the settings screen, its gone.

    [Edit] of course I hadnt read the entire thread... trying some of the other solutions now. Thats said, I almost never use MMS even on regular phones. Its just that its a challenge. FYI the "reset settings" didnt work for me because i need a different data APN than what settings says.. and as soon as I change it, it wipes the APN for MMS. I think its to do with the fact that Telstra (australia) expects iphones to be using telstra.iph for data, but I can't, and I use telstra.internet. It seems possible that telstra.internet and telstra.mms are incompatible (because the big T hasn't thought it through) As long as I leave telstra.iph I can send mms. as soon as I change it... no mms APN.

    Ok for people wondering why the quality isnt that great its because if u choose a file on your camera roll to send then it comes out blurry but if u choose to take a pick then use it then send that one it comes out flawless..

    It's ok to leave on cydia but they need to put in BIG BOLD letters don't install on 3G phones! I saw no info on the app page and now need to restore my phone. oh well, lesson learned.

    This seems to only work for those with unlocked phones not on the AT&T network. Apparently though, adding MMS to the data plan might work. Those of us on AT&T must use this trick.
    Hack to Enable MMS on iPhone OS 3.0 - iPhone Hacks

    Instructions
    1. Entere into Cydia and download the package ActivateMMS2G "available in the repository of iSpazio.

    2. Restart the iPhone.

    3. Settings> General> Network> Cellular Data Network, and configure the scope of MMS with the parameters that are here.

    4. Now you will see a camera button in the regular SMS window.

    Go to Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network and type in exactly :
    Cellular Data=
    APN: wap.voicestream.com
    Username:
    Password:

    MMS=
    APN: wap.voicestream.com

    MMS Proxy 216.155.165.50:8080
    MMS Max Message Size:
    MMS UA Prof URL:

    Installed, followed instructions, and restarted.
    Got the camera icon, network settings ok, but when it goes to send the pic, the sending status gets stuck right before it completes sending...

    Any ideas?

    Got everything to work. Its really slow, and im wondering how come the pics are not as clear as what is being sent? I sent a pic from my camera roll, and it came to me really fuzzy?

    Any way to fix this, and speed it up?

    Anyone stupid enough to install an MMS-Function-Enable application on a 3G, which has it by default, deserves to have their phone bricked.
