i dunno how old this post is but i just donated to stack 3.0, i got a link put my info in and downloaded something, WHAT DO I DO NEXT????
i been trying things, but i have no idea what to do...

After you donate you should receive an email with a deb file. After you get the file you'll need to SSH to the file to /var/mobile and drop it there. Then if you don't already have MobileTerminal, you'll need to download it from Cydia. Once you have those done, open MobileTerminal type the following:

su root
alpine
-i dpkg stack_3_alpha_c.deb

Once it runs, exit, and respring. Be sure to have an empty place in the dock. Bugs are still being worked out, but it's amazing.

Yep. That's what I did. , but I haven't anything from Steven in quite awhile, so not sure when the public release.

you can do it with cydia actually.. its under installed packages.

i have a question, if we wanted to use a custom icon for these stacks, where would they be located?

They're located in /var/mobile/Library/MobileStack. You have to change those images, but if you do, I would recommend backing up the original ones first, just in case you decide to change it back to the original images later. The original images are encoded as well. They need to be decoded for you to be able to view them on your computer.

odd... i don't have var/mobile/Library/MobileStack, i have MobileInstallation. If i made a MobileStack folder, and just inserted the file there, would that take care of it?

i still cant find it where you're pointing. i tried searching using winscp... there is no *stack* anything except for 2 plist files....

i need to change the arrangment of the icons....

I'm a little confused on what you're asking. Are you looking to install Stack, change image files, or arrange the layout of the icons in the Stack?
