^^mADVLock is a very good alternative and seems to work if you open apps only from springboard. One flaw is that if you open apps using Spotlight, they open without asking for a passcode. And also its a paid app with a free 7 day trial.

Lockdown is now updated to version 6.1 and works fine in 3.0.

Lockdown 6.1 works fine on 3.0 unless you try to use it with hidden apps (i.e. apps in a Categories folder, for instance). This used to work fine in OS 2.x.
