Hi All,

Im pleased to announce the beta release of my app - SMSTool on the modmyi repo in Cydia.

This is the beta release which helps in:

• Searching through Received/Sent messages
• Forwarding messages
• Forwarding messages as eMail
• View messages in Drafts
• Use templates for quick messaging

I would soon be addind features like Deleting individual messages, saving messages as templates or notes and many more.

Some people are facing crash issues while opening the app.

One of the reason could be that you have at least one contact without any name defined for it.

I have corrected it and will be releasing patch today.

I've been waiting for a straightforward, free app I can use for forwarding the occasional SMS, so I'll probably try this out

Good news!

I am almost done with the changes for the final release.

The features that would be added in this update are:

• Contact names displayed where possible
• Deletion of individual messages in Inbox/Sent/Template
• Save messages to Templates
• Write new messages in landscape/portrait mode which can then be sent as SMS/Mail or saved in Template/Notes
• Save messages to Notes
• Send notes as SMS/eMail or save them to Templates

Most of the changes are completed and only final touches remain. Hopefully by this weekend I should be able to push this update!

This app is absolutely free of cost and does not require any activation or license. Although, I wouldn't stop you people from donating if you wish to

Good job, this is working good. It seems to work ok with irealsms so far.

The only thing I see is that the phone number has to match EXACTLY in order to display. Ex. my local contacts to not have a leading 1 like 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx, they only have xxx-xxx-xxxx so just their number is displayed, not their name.

v1.2 works absolutely perfect! the new integration to the notes.db is a great touch!

with your implementation of smstool still letting the default sms app handle all the sms sending functions (by simply injecting the texts to the sms app's input field), the sms.db will always be safe from being accidentally corrupted (like what happened with me a while back while using other 3rd party sms apps).

a million thanks to you, srkode, for releasing a perfect complementary tool for managing sms messages. it works perfectly for people like me who just like having a tool to manage them. smstool's ability to send/forward/reply feels like a perfectly-implemented bonus that works flawlessly.

I'm glad you like the app. For future update, im planning to do the following:

• Forwarding contact details via SMS/mail
• Correct the contact names for those saved without country code

I get the same issue as usermike with just numbers listed instead of names. Other wise excellent app. I have already deleted 3rd party apps that I kept only to forward. this is perfect.

hello! very new here, i am on a 3g iphone with 2.2.1 still, sms tool gives me an error - this application 'smstool' cannot be opened - do i need anything to install for this to work?
