New APT Packager - ICY by RipDev

Ripdev: Icy

I just downloaded it to see what it has over Cydia and it crashed my phone...

I'm thinking they made this b/c they know Installer is failing. lol

and i hate how they bash Cydia on the site.

They don't bash Cydia. They're implying Cydia is a heavy app. Which is all too true.

Haha. I can't believe everyone stopped using Installer once 2.0 came out. I hope this doesn't happen to Cydia! haha

never going to happen, cydia is way better then installer ever was.
Plus installer was sold to ripdev... that's why Icy is going to suffer the same fate as installer <<< my opinion

So whats the diff between Icy and Cydia since Icy taps into Cydia's repo sources and does the same thing?

Wouldn't it be pointless to install both Icy and Cydia since Icy does the same thing Cydia does?

Only thing I like about ICY is that it doesn't auto update. I can hope into it quick and check something without wating for that stupid RELOADING DATA screen to go away.

Installer would have survived 2.0 if they had gotten it ready for the release of the first pwn tool but they waited too long and everyone jumped on cydia. The threads back then were full of people complaining about cydia and wanting installer.

Tried Icy (cos after adding Ripdev's repo, it auto prompts for update ... I updated accidentally...

Anyways Category does not work for me. Nothing got refreshed and it hung...

Had a minor scare when uninstalling as a warning says it may render Cydia and iPhone OS unusable. Uninstalled anyway and everything was fine...

I'd give Icy a miss for now...
