Cydia store coming?
Looks like a new version of Cydia is coming called cydia store and you might be able to buy apps in it! Might come out this week.
I saw this post by saurik on twitter (the guy who made cydia)
Just nailed the official announcement of the Cydia Store at 360|iDev, complete with demo of social packaging: comments via Facebook Connect!

Just read a news story about this too. I think it will be a good thing. I hope it will allow all devs to sell their apps (like Snapture, irealsms, intelliscreen... etc) through a single source. It would be like the App Store except for jailbroken apps. And of course there will be a theme section.. and not to worry I'm sure everything that's free now will stay free from what I gather.

I think it'll be great. As long as the media doesn't spin it as a store for software pirates or something. (The media has a way of twisting things)

I agree, it's should be great to have a means to buy the apps one wants without having to find the registration and payment routes for each program.

Well you know the second a company sees a way of making quick money through a single thing, they'll make free things cost at least a bit... idk though.

I think paying for a premium theme is entirely acceptable, especially if it is implied that the theme creator will create icons for your programs. He then has an obligation to keep the theme up to date with new apps and other popular apps that weren't included in the original theme release. He'll want to do this otherwise new people will not want to buy his theme as it becomes outdated. $0.99 for a professional theme sounds mighty fine to me.

I think openly raging war with Apple may not be a good thing...
But who knows, this may force Apple's hand to fully open the iphone which will end up a good thing.
Wait and see.

Well, the store is up
There is only one app to purchase. Cyntacts for $0.99. It is an app that displays pictures next to your contacts. I purchased it immediately b/c I know saurik makes quality programs and also to support him for all of his work on cydia and the iphone platform. He has made a lot of this possible and I have never contributed until now. And even now, it's only $1.

Now this basically leaves apple no choice but to take full take action against all the jailbreak community. What a bad Idea,Cydia will run fo 6 months and make billions then shut down . then were right back to were we started, Pay Apple for apps.

That's right and then systematically go after everyone else. Cydia got the ball rolling on this one.Cydia will set a bad precedent and Apple wont let it happen for long.

its simple...move Cydia servers to Europe, Apple can´t a do a single thing, because jailbreal will NEVER be declared illegal on the EU
i am not worried at all with Apple´s legal actions...

Not me. Themes are nice to have so you're not stuck with the same boring icons, etc, but it doesn't improve the functionality of your iPhone. I wouldn't buy them.
