I went back to using g-maps. The voice directions are not loud enough and for highway and 50 mph city speeds it gives you direction wayyyy to late(and in meters none the less).
Have any of you guys actually used it to drive someplace you have no idea how to get to. I have, and it was not fun. To get back home i used g-maps because the 3d angled view makes worlds of difference.

Get a car charger and have it plugged in while the GPS is on. They are really cheap.

How do I get this to actually work? Always says "Unable to get the GPS position. The GPS is not currently giving any position information."
What settings to I have to set for it to work?

^Then you dont have a GPS unit....and it wont work properly because its not going to find your location.
You would have to buy a tethered GPS device to plug into the phone, I believe the compatible one's are listed in the first post or their site.

I tried this out and even though it is cool to download tiles(takes forever!)...it never shows me where I am actually at. It also never finds anything that I Search for.

Gave thsi another go today and it worked much better. I used to to guide me to a fairly out of the way place and the directions were flawless, better than my Garmin Nuvi 350. it did not crash at all on a 35 mile round trip. However, it did not give voice commands at all despite having the settings set (no the phone was not on silent). I realize the volume is soft, I know what it soounds like as I did hear the voice commands last time. Today i had the thing held up to my ear and no voice, no chimes no nothing. nevertheless, it didnt get me lost. On other bug is that every so often the wrong way will flash up even if I was on the correct route, it always self corrected though in a few moments.

If I've helped you, you can help me by clicking on that Thanks button.
