iReal SMS sending text times...
Why does it take so long to send a text?? It seems to freeze for like 5 seconds while it sends...then as soon as it sends it goes back to normal. The quick reply feature deosnt do this though

It doesnt freeze. The stock SMS app takes a few seconds to send, but shows you a status bar. iReal doesnt show a status bar, so it "appears" to be froze.

it doesn't show you the message you just sent until it successfully sends it. That's a great feature because otherwise you'd always think your message got sent even when it failed. This way you have the sending icon in the status bar and when it's gone, that's when the message pops up. No message? Then it probably failed.

Well no, cause I cant tap anything while this is happening. The stock SMS app would at least let me go back to my other texts...this literally freezes

I know what you mean. Do you have the latest version? It "freeze" time is MUCH less. The latest version is pretty much perfect.

2.0.7.7 is the latest iirc. There have been a good amount of bug fixes since 2.0.7.2. I haven't experienced the issue you're talking about at all.

It may be the way your iphone is setup. Whats running...etc.
Cause I am using 2.0.7.2 and it runs perfect, actually quicker than the stock app.

^Well, when you open SBsettings, you have to give it like 5-6 seconds to "refresh" before it will give you the actually memory amount.
But 7 is horrible.
I have Winterboard, SBsettings, HTML widgets, Notifier....to name a few...running with 32mb free.
You probably used Quickpwn to jailbreak, yes??
Creating a custom FW with Pwnage seems to make things run alot smoother.

you know what....it has to do with the amount of text you have in your database. I have 8000(I save all of mine) and my brother has 15. His ireal sends perfect. Maybe they can update the program to handle larger databases!

Didn't think about that. I save all mine, too. I don't know how many I had the first time I deleted them all (because I was getting a negative text number and later realized there was just one person's conversation I had to delete to fix it) but now I have over 2,000. I want to delete them to see if it helps, but I love being able to go back to old texts at any time and read them. :/
And are you sure it has to do with that?

I'm pretty sure. My brother didnt have but 15 and his went thru prefect. One way to test in your case would be to backup/save your SMS.db file in terminal; and then delete all of your conversations in iRealSMS. Then once you do this test to see if it works for you. Then copy your SMS.db back to your original so that they text come back. I love going back too! It's like you have evidence on people. lol
