Sensors

Sensors, another app by Erica Sadun, shows a live display of what the iPhone accelerometer is sensing in the iPhone. Useful for developing accelerometer based games/apps.

Available via iBrickr/Breezy, Installer, and natetrue's site.

try this

If you guys wanna try something really cool and are interested in knowing how hardware works on a level that's only interesting to a small few, check this out:

Run the sensors application, you will notice immediately the arrow points up all the time (or towards the highest point of the phone on a 2D plane, since they didn't draw a 3D arrow).. Essentially the arrow is pointing opposite the force of gravity.

Now hold the iPhone in front of you at a slightly tilted upward angle (still almost completely flat but not) and spin around really fast but look at your phone the whole time..

If you generate enough centripetal force you will see the arrow point at you! This is because the centripetal force pulling away from you is counteracting the gravity and the phone now thinks YOU are the new "up!"

The more elevated from a flat horizontal placement the phone is the more force will be required to do this, so have it slightly elevated (not too much).. it won't work if the phone is flat.. just like you can't switch portrait/landscape by turning the phone while it's flat.
