New app ScreenSplitr on Cydia. View your screen on both iPhone and TV or PC
This is a new app called ScreenSplitr, which can split your screen to be viewed on both the iPhone and your TV or PC at the same time. I tried TVOut before but this works better and has more features. I am sure TVOut will get better too. But as for now I go with ScreenSplitr. Oh btw you can find it on Cydia. The only thing is I have to buy the video cable from apple now, because the aftermarket cable gives the Accesory was not made for iPhone warning and after that your TV goes black till you unplug and plug the cable back in.

I just installed it and it appears to have all the features I was looking for. I have it hooked up with the Apple Composite Cable and it works perfectly. I dont have any video on my iphone, so I am working on that now. One really nice feature is the ability to turn the unit and it flips the video out on the tv to widescreen. It is different from TVOut as it still shows the ipod screen fully as well. Nice!

Hi jayfrost I have a question if you dont't mind. I assume you don't get any warnings from the iphone about "This accesory was not made..." blah blah blah with the original apple cable, is this correct? And is the app working without interruptions, right? Thanks

If you use an aftermarket cable will the app still work after you get that message? Or do you just get a black screen? I purchased a cable off Ebay this morning to use with this app.

You do get a black screen and have to unplug and plug the cable back in.

My cable has the Iphone connector at one end and a usb cable and component cable at the other. Its nice because it charges and outputs video at the same time. Apple Component AV Cable - Apple Store (U.S.)
I dont get any of the popup messages since it is an apple accessory.

seems to work on everything except games for me. The screen blacks out and unplugging and re-plugging it does not resolve the issue.

I cant get it to show up in safari
I can see it under the bonjour tab...
but when I click it it just sits and spins for a minute...
eventually it just says :
Safari could not open the page “http://iHelix.local.:8099/content/home.html” because the server is not responding.
and I dont get a message on my iphone asking for permission or whatever its supposed to ask..

I would say yes because it let's you see both the iphone screen and on your tv at the same time. With TVOut you can only see your screen on your tv and that makes it hard to use the phone. But try it out for yourself and deceide later.

I just purchased a 3rd party cable from Ebay as well but the seller assured that it works with 2.0-2.2 firmware and has a 99.8% rating.
I sure hope my cable works

i bought mine from ebay and i cant get it to work because of the "this accessory is not made for the iphone"
it starts off just fine but after the warning pops up the video feed dies, you could still hear audio tho?
any file mods or patches to make this warning not show up?

I too sometimes have the same blackout issue, but this application is working for me in my car.
I am using this:
iPhone 3G firmware 2.2
Aftermarket cable (Bought at Best Buy)with USB and Composite RCA on the other end (Rocketfish™ - Composite A/V Cable for Apple® iPod® http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1218009789158)
JVC KW NX7000 DVD Navigation radio set to AV Input
Try this:
1. Connect cable to video unit
2. Connect iPhone to cable (if you are using USB or the message pops up hit "NO")
3. Then start ScreenSplitr
4. If this does not work Quit ScreenSplitr and restart the steps from 1.
*This works for me, sometime respringing or rebooting helps.
I actually made a video using Cycorder to record live images of ScreenSplitr working on my JVC headunit.
EDIT: Try uninstalling TVout if you have it, then it should work: http://www.plutinosoft.com/blog/cate...#comment-11908Last edited by starlox; 01-31-2009 at 07:16 PM. Reason: Found brand of AV cable
