Bought a 3rd party cable that was supposed to work with 2.2. Needless to say I can only play about 1 minute of video before it blacks out and gives the accessory error with this program. I can't believe apple is charging 50 dollars for what is essentially a usb charger and composite cables that cost literally pennies to make.
I would count the authentication chip as part of the expense, but its THEIR unecessary proprietary bs. So frustrated.

Not true, I am using this cable I bought from Best Buy: Rocketfish™ - Composite A/V Cable for Apple® iPod®
Read my above post for the setup I am using in my car.
It could be the game (i don't have it), I have verified that the following games work on video out: Uno, Hearts, Bejeweled 2, & Pac-Man. Also, Cycorder works while dTunes, YouTube, & MxTube don't.
Sometimes missing a step make all the difference. makes sure that you follow these steps exactly (as when the first time you did a jailbreak):
IF YOU HAVE BOTH ScreenSplitr and TVOut installed DO THIS FIRST:
I read this post from the developer, it says to Uninstall TVOut (Plutinosoft » Blog Archive » ScreenSplitr FAQ), but then I noticed a significant problem with video quality. (uninstalling TVOut removed a dependency file for video rendering) Follow these steps to fix that issue.
- Uninstall TVOut (Leave ScreenSplitr installed)
- Quit Cycdia and Respring
- Re-Install TVout
(Reboot or Respring to start off fresh helps)
Getting ScreenSplitr to work:
0. MAKE SURE SCREENSPLITR IS OFF
1. Connect AV cable to video display unit
2. Connect iPhone to AV cable (if you are using USB or the message pops up hit "NO")
3. Then start ScreenSplitr
4. You should then get the display.
If this does not work or you lose your display, Quit ScreenSplitr and restart the steps from step 0.
This is what I am using:
iPhone 3G firmware 2.2
Aftermarket cable (Bought at Best Buy)with USB and Composite RCA on the other end (Rocketfish™ - Composite A/V Cable for Apple® iPod® http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1218009789158)
JVC KW NX7000 DVD Navigation radio set to AV Input
I actually made a video using Cycorder to record live images of ScreenSplitr working on my JVC headunit.Last edited by starlox; 01-31-2009 at 08:29 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
iPhone 3G firmware 2.2 - AT&T (Jailbroken of course)
USB and Composite RCA (Rocketfish™ - Composite A/V Cable for Apple® iPod® http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1218009789158)
Car #1: JVC KW NX7000 DVD Navigation Headunit W/ USB and AV input (Charging, Sound and Video - no Ipod Controls)
Car #2: Pioneer AVIC-N2 DVD Navigation w/iPod adapter (Sound and Ipod Controls working - no charging or video)

I did all this and it still wont work. It works for awhile, 60 seconds at most, and then the screen goes black all the sudden.

it's working for me on 3.1.2 to my macbook, but are we supposed to be able to control the iphone remotely from the computer? if so, that's not working. But i get my phone's screen up in safari
edit: oops, didn't see the part about the experimental link. i'm assuming you need to install veency to use this feature?
edit 2: cool! had to install veency and it's working! laggy, but that's how vnc always is.Last edited by willryan42; 11-20-2009 at 01:05 PM.

I can get it to work on my computer, but I want to display it on my tv, which doesnt work. Plus I dont have an official apple tv out cables, which would probably help.
