You have to be able to select the text (hold down on text and the magnafier and keyboard will pop up)once up hold and slide your finger to left right up or down. The text will then have a gray box around it. Then hit the 123 button and a new menu will appear above the keyboard you select copy and you will see the text next to the copy/paste buttons. Now the text is in the clipboard. Now where ever you can edit text you bring up the keyboard and hit the 123 button and press paste.

Haven't tested it extensively yet; but it works; only issue is if it isn't an editable document (e.g. a received email -- unless I click reply; or a website), I can't get the selector or keyboard to pop up; but a great start, if this can be resolved -- am i doing something wrong?

I cant get it to work.
The text isn't getting highlighted at all. So, press the text and get the magnifier; at that point, when I drag my finger, shouldn't whatever i highlight be gray?

Got it to work finally! Had to enable the performance boost in intelliscreen.Last edited by NArush; 01-19-2009 at 06:34 PM.

works, but a little annoying when you actually want to use the magnifing glass to edit some text, cause you cant drag the cursor anymore... because you will be highlighting the text. The paste didnt work with YouNote(an app store notepad), but did with all the native apps(safari, text, notes, email)
Step in right direction... but to tell you the truth isnt that important to me at this time... when we have MS Word on the iPhone, then I will be more excited for this functionality

ive read that it doesnt work well with already existing text on webpages, only in areas that you can type within the OS (notepad, address bar, etc)

It used to work great for me but then I upgraded late last night and now it seems to be crashing apps. I'm not too worried though since it's still in beta and I'm sure another update will be coming soon...

Great app!
a few things i would like to see fixed:
1) I would like to have the ability to copy text from a text message that was sent to me (i.e. when someone sends a MMS i would like to be able to copy the MSG ID and Password)
2) When typing and you bring up the copy/paste menu, it covers up the text field, making it impossible to see what you are typing. Is it possible to move this menu up one slot so that it is on top of the text bar?
3) There should be some sort of double tap gesture to initialize the copy/paste selecting action because without it, it is impossible to slide to move the cursor to a new location in text.

I too would like to see a SBsettings toggle. Sometimes I dont want to highlight text, and just want to zoom in between two letters to correct spelling etc. I think I'll use the normal function rather then the highlight text function. If I could leave copy/paste OFF by default and doa quick finger swipe at the top via SBsettings to toggle copy-paste on/off that would be perfect. I'm not sure if that would require a springboard reload though.
EDIT: new version does exactly what I wanted above! (only no need to disable it)
