It's here! I've been wanting blank spaces since I installed summerboard.
Given, it is really buggy, it's a giant step in the right direction!

Yeah I think it is what we have already figured out though, that is the app still launches, and then returns to the spring(summer)board in a few seconds... not an actual blank space, but a blank app....

You need to download blank.app and install it.

I tried it... You download his blank.app, rename it to " .app" (with a space before the "."), then load it into your applications folder via ssh. Then you load up rsbt and it puts a blank icon next to the ab icon. When you click it it adds a "blank" app to the list and you can put it wherever you want. But be warned, it does load if you click the blank spot, and after about 10 seconds, returns to springboard.

And, therefore, form before function. I can imagine wasting hours of time in the course of a year by accidentally hitting the wrong spot.

what happens when you accidently put the rSBT icon as HIDDEN? Any way to get it back?

Do you not have a launcher installed? Just run the launcher and open rSBT.
