I upgraded to 2.2 last night using the firmware found here. Re-nstalled all my apps from before the upgrade and was having the same issue as quoted above. So, I decided to do another restore and install one app at a time, testing to see if each app launches ok.

Through this exercise, I found that Intelliscreen was causing all the issues. If you have Intelliscreen installed, try removing it and see if it "solves" the issue.

If you don't have Intelliscreen installed, try what I did and install/test one app at a time. Anything can be a cause so early on after the upgrade.

I don't have Intelliscreen installed, however my issues started with Siax 1.0.4 before I upgraded to 2.2. After I upgraded to 2.2 and reinstalled it still crashes after launch.

Wierd!

The only other thing I can think of that would cause a crash on launch is the file permission settings. Has either of you tried CHMODing the files in siax.app to 755 or 777?

Otherwise, I'm out of ideas... Perhaps, someone else can offer a solution?

Don't give up! Just search modmyi forums on how to CHMOD; it's quite easy. Alternatively, wait for someone to post a solution. I can almost guarantee that the culprit is not SIAX itself. If it were, everyone would have it crashing, which is not the case!

If you jailbroke your iphone solely for use with a native voip app, I recommend you revert to the official firmware and get Fring from the AppStore for free. Fring is not nearly as good as SIAX, but it will enable you to make voip calls over WiFi.

i already use iCall that is much better than fring (for sound quality) but that is not offering any custom VoIP setting. Fring isnt this bad but not as good as siax (witch looks like the killer apps for me atm)
looking foward to get someone that come with a solution then i will buy this apps for sure

Can you let me know where you got iCall for iPhone? I've always wanted to try first hand the feature to switch between cellular and voip calls.

SIAX has been very well behaved on my 2.1. I even have it backgrounded and it didn't even crash for 2 days straight (Fring crashes after 15minutes), though connection to my SIP servers was terminated(with a 401 Unauth based on the log file).

I wouldn't be surprised that there could be changes in the SDK which would need SIAX to be updated. Stay tune guys

Don't be surprise about the "open source" thing you will see. I still think the dev deserve credits to bring this onto the iphone.

There's an update out. I hope this will work for you guys on 2.2. I also hope it won't go bust in 2.1 since I am not planning to upgrade

is there a way to set this up to call on 3g? maybe edit the voipover3g app that came out? also is there a way to set it up to when you call someone, your name comes up and looks like your calling from your regular cell number? again, again with this can you have someone call your cell number and siax rings with this runnning in the backround?

sorry for the questions, just trying to understand.

This works over 3G OOB, you don't have to rely on voipover3gs
