biteSMS 2.5 w/ landscape Mode!!
I am not sure if this has been posted on the forums but just came across this. biteSMS 2.5 has been released which now also features landscape mode!
Some new features in 2.5:
- Ability to insert a contact name & number or email address when composing an SMS just right swipe in the message text box (not supported in landscape mode)
- Ability to insert your current GPS location coordinates when composing an SMS just right swipe in the message text box (not supported in landscape mode)
- For incoming SMS messages that contain a http url, now allows user to open up Safari, YouTube or Google Maps
- Added Landscape mode when composing an SMS message, and with a larger font as well!! (you need to be in the compose text box before it’ll rotate to landscape)
- Faster navigation from “Text Messages” view to specific message conversation
- Compliance with Cydia Mobile Substrate framework for registering of dylibs (now a Cydia prerequisite)
- Unify status bar color (containing character counter and credit / message indicator)
- Upon pressing “Send…” keyboard reverts to normal mode (if currently in numbers / special symbols mode) as per Apple SMS application.
Just add Cydia repo: http://www.bitesms.com/cydia/beta
Oops!! seems like there is already a thread posted on this by ericidle. i just saw it. request moderators to please close this.

would anyone happen to know how to make the settings arrow button thing under the send button transparent so it isnt visible? I already took out the "send via carrier" in the send button and the # of sent messages. I just want bitesms to look as close as the stock sms app.

any way to make the text entry box small by default? it seems to be formatted to be two lines and i'd like it to just be one, like the native sms program.
i tried replacing the image, but that didn't work, so i'm out of ideas. =/
this is what i've got so far, making it look (somewhat) native:

I was wondering - does biteSMS perform better? Meaning, does it not suffer from the same crazy bugs as the naitive app? (wrong messages in wrong threads, dissapearance of send bar, etc)

I dont know how to upload files but ill try to help you out. Just open up the .strings file in notepad (if your on windows) and edit the section where it says "Would you like to send this message via your Mobile Carrier?" If you read the beginning of the .strings file, it tells you not to edit the key part, only the string part. Replace the string part with whatever you want it to say. If you want it blank, just delete what was originally in the string part, and leave it blank so you have two arrows like this ><

Thanks I will try this when I get home. I deleted everything in that section. I did not leave any arrows and got rid of the keys. Hopefully it will work.Last edited by signori; 11-12-2008 at 07:25 AM.

oo3...> I think it's his Winterboard theme. Try downloading the theme "MobileMe" or something like that.
