If I putty into the phone, I can log in but if I type in a few characters, the putty session with close. This is the same with the terminal app.

same here, terminal, vt100 and putty shutting down after entering third character/sign... anybody knows how to handle this issue? in the other thread sbdy reinstalled bsd-subsystem and got it fixed... ?!?

I haev this installed and no matter what it is that im typing but after the 3rd letter or trying to execute any command it just takes me back to the home and the program closes. Anyone have any idea whats causing this? And how I can get my terminal to actually work so I can run commands on it?

You may have two versions of OpenSSH installed. Remove one.

I checked, there was only one version. I even deleted it and reinstalled and im having the same issue.

I love mobileterminal and have not encountered any problem with it all except, I cant for the life of me figure out how out get color working. Oh inccidently I have searched but to no avail so I would be very grateful to anyone who can help me with this.

I dont knowmuch about programming or anything but what is mobile terminal used for? Is it basically the same thing as MS-DOS on windows?

i added a source and the source had an update that is not current the one I have is more up to date and i can't get red of it. I removed the source but still see the package and the update. anyone had the same problem.

The mobile terminal on google code:

is for the old firmware.

The new mobile terminal for 2.0 that you can get from cydia is giving me some problems.. is that true for anyone else? The landscape (sideways) keyboard is leaving keyboard artifacts... also the tap screen won't collapse the keyboard. I also figured out to scroll... you need to swipe on the right side of the screen rather than the middle or anywhere else.

ALSO: are there any shortcuts to typing on this new terminal?

Yeah, I never had the 1st gen iphone and I've only used the latest 2.0 mobileterminal, and it seems rather buggy. I see no way of using 'gestures' to bring up other menus, but I do some reference that it used to have another menu with some arrow keys and other things. When MobileTerminal starts, I see a menu sort of shrink and disappear very quickly...

Also getting keyboard artifacts when rotating to landscape mode and back. Colours working nice though, i can ssh into my home machine with irssi screen on it just fine.

Sometimes tapping the top middle of the screen makes the background white, sometimes it seems to move to a new screen?
