While using Cydia, it told me a new update was available so I went ahead and updated it. I went to the "Changes" tab clicked on one of the items listed (Black Wood theme) everything was working fine...all of a sudden I think Cydia crashed and my iPhone went to the Home Screen. This happened about 3 times. Does anybody know why this might happen? Is it the upgrade? I haven't experienced this issue prior to the update last night.

i never updated to 2.0 firmware im just not ready yet im still on 1.1.4...but ive been reading alot about cydia lately and i installed it through installer and it installed version 1.0....so being that im on 1.1.4 am i able to get the new version of cydia or is it only for 2.0 users? and if i am able to get it how do i go about doing this?.....Thank you

i love cydia, actually being able to use it without wifi is great. Ive literally passed out waiting on installer to update repositories WITH wifi. Keep up the good work.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this...

I am new to the whole jailbreak scene. I used pwnage 2.0.2 today and installed Cydia and Installer.app onto my phone. I am able to install from each of these programs but the selection isn't that great. I tried a few times to add the repo that is listed in the original post (http://apptapp.saurik.com) but it keeps failing.

I really want to have a larger selection in Cydia since I do enjoy the search feature it has available. Any ideas on some decent repos I could add for themes, games, chat apps, etc? I would like to install agilemobile but i can't seem to find a repo that has a lot of apps listed. :/ Thanks in advance.

I Google'd 'Cydia Repositories' and found many, many search results. Here is one in particular with a large selection.

My Cydia stopped working all of the sudden. Does anyone know of a zip I can download to manually reinstall it over ssh?

My permissions are at 775 and everything, not sure why it isnt working.

I'm still on 1.4.4 myself. I believe that when you open Cydia there's a message that reads that the new version can only be used on 2.x iPhones. If not I read it elsewhere. So yes, until we updrade to a 2.x firmware, we're stuck with the previous version of cydia.

I actually "had" to use this today so I did and it performed well, but man there has got to be some stabilization implemented (anti-shake). Other than that it is excellent.

i recently upgraded to 2.0.2 & then to 2.1. Since then cydia is acting a little strangely. For eg. recently i wanted 2 install snapture 2.1 but cydia kept installing 2.0. Also mobilefinder has just been released but i cannot install that bcos cydia keeps givinga message that "i need to install more sources" .
I have tried everything frm quickpwng my phone again to deleting all the repos & re-installing them. But nothing is working out.
Note: while loading/refreshing the home page i get some "errors: sub-process gzip" something.
Pls help guys.

Cydia broken after an update. I am still on 1.1.4. (iLiberty). I updated Cydia recently (Brown+White) which it said was painfully OLD version (Purple Gold).

What can I do to fix Cydia?

If it cant be fixed, Is there some way to backup SMS & Notes from 1.1.4 iPhone so that I can go to a 2.x version without losing it.

watch out for itunes 8.0+

and if you want to fix it, best bet would be to re-install
