I have seen couple of ppl on this post having the same issue but have not seen anyone address the issue & how to fix it.

If I install anything using installer, it works great. Apps that required BSD also install without problem using the installer (Cydia & fake BSD are installed). The only issue is that I am not able to install anything from Cydia; I keep getting the error msg.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.
if the chmod wont help, you may try:

apt-get uninstall cydia
apt-get clean
apt-get update
apt-get install cydia

in that order.

pd: the first one might be remove instead of uninstall :P

that fixed that problem for me (in fact, eny problem i face, i fix it with that :P )

Thanks Cocchiararo's. did apt-get remove cydia. It apparently did remove it but did return the following error paragraph during remove:

................
Removing com.modmyi.lighttpd.dir ...
dpkg - warning whie removing com.modmyi.lighttpd.dir, unable to remove directory
'/private/var': Resource busy - directory maybe a mount point ?
..................
..................
subprocess post-removal script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
com.modmyi.lighttpd.dir
E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Cydia gave me problem right after I tried installing PDF/DOC/XLS Viewer

Should I ignore this error & move on or do I have to do something else?

Thanks.

Well... let's dump installer
I encourage cydia authors to contact me.
I can include cydia in next ziphone release.
I am working on the beta now.
So if you guys have a working cydia version for beta firmware 2.0 I can start testing it..
Come on!
Let's do it!

some terminal (i use the one form cydia).

if its one that normaly logs as mobile, you first need to type:
su

and when it asks for a pasword, alpine (root for username if it wants you to type it)

Just to be sure:

To uninstall Cydia, the command is: apt-get remove cydia

Right?
And that removes it completely?

it removes the the icon and the GUI app, you still keep all the rest, and apt-get commands remain usable

Is there a way to remove everything Cydia installed completely?

I notice instead of "uninstall" on Installer.app, there's only "Reinstall" as an option.

after the last cydia/apt (i dont know which one caused it) i get "Cydia subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2" after every install.

i tried removing and intalling again cydia without results... any one else with similar problems ? (i wont remove apt cause i think that would bust everything :P )

it seems that apps install anyway, so its not a big problem (it seems, i cant be sure), and the new verison of cydia rocks BIG time, it gets updates without bothering you, and it can open more info pages INSIDE cydia finally
