b3nny:[/B]I think one of the issues with copy and paste is that it has to be a apple framework that other apps can tap into. for example. if you add a copy paste to this app, how do you suppose you will get information out of mobilemail.app? what about if you are using AIM to chat with someone, how will you be able to copy a chat log or paste a chat log from AIM? just tapping into springboard is not enough, you still need to have all programs communicate with eachother in some way, as well as implement some sort of grabbing, selecting, lasso type tool for people to pinch grab and select text. it seems that copy/paste is a huge endeavor and I would much much rather see the feature set pushed to version 1.0 or beta testing before a monster like copy/paste. of course, if I am wrong and copy and paste is much easier than go for it, but I think the things i've mentioned are big hurdles for anyone trying to write a solution.

i understand what you mean, and i'm no programmer, so i don't really know, but here's what i'm thinking: this program IS kind of the solution to said problem. if this program is accessible ALL the time, say like Dock.app, then it IS the unifying characteristic that all apps would have in common (basically, our big brother Mac OS's Clipboard). I think that getting copied text off of said clipboard might not be too hard to accomplish if you could use apple's existing cursor implementation to put the cursor where the copied text is going (the magnifying glass), and then make some sort of macro that would type the keys out on the keyboard for you very quickly. It may not be perfect, but it would be using the existing apple frameworks to the fullest. so if thats the pasting, then the real trick is the copying, and the missing link is obviously the text selection. But, instead of a lasso tool, i think it would be easier to code something that would identify text fields in most apps. if we had that, then it could copy all the text fields (from the topmost app, in this case, our 'copy' app) to this clipboard like app, bringing it to the front, (maybe you hit a button and it goes full screen), then you'd edit the text copied to just what you need (using apple framework: the magnifying glass and the delete key. yes it would kinda suck, but i'm simply pointing out that it could be done). Then, having the properly edited the copied text in your clipboard, you would switch to the 'paste' app, and use the aforementioned method to paste. and viola. LOL yeah right, so easy i'm sure, but my point is that i think it could be implemented, albeit in a very bare-bones kind of a way, without TOO much working outside of the apple frameworks.. anyways, i'm sure this type of thing has been said before by people much more qualified than me, and i'm sure some Dev's are reading this and LOL'ing.

i know that the sort-of-implemented safari (1.X.X) copy/paste thing was similar to this (as far as the copy everything instead of making a selection with a lasso or similiar). so maybe some of that code could be implemented? or maybe the Dev's responsible for that could just come give their two cents, and/or help out this project some. shoot even if it only worked in safari, but it had a nicer interface, i would be ALL about it. at least then we could paste into web mail and stuff.

BUT, all that said, i would really love to see a public version with features as is to. lol. i'm STOKED about this app!

There should be a beta in November. Probably. Maybe. Possibly.

Hi Conn,

you must work hard so I don't want you to read boring ratings and so on...

Your app seems to be very good but I want you to add 2 things please.
The first thing is if you could add a toggle which deactivate the autocorection (for all countrys) and the secound thing is: You told that you could background 3 apps and i think its very good when you add a 4th tap. In this tap are the backgrounded apps and you could swich between theese like a task manager by windows and windowsmobile and so on.
I dont know much about the system of the ipod but if this works its very great.
