[RELEASE] Notifier 1.0

Just installed this new software, very similar to others that display icons for new SMS, VMAIL, EMAIL, and missed calls ---- but it turns on and off instantly. Looks Goodl

Here's a quote from Cydia install page:

"This adds taskbar notifications to your statusbar for things like new mail, missed calls, and voicemail. It uses mobile substrate so thee is no extra daemon process running".

Mes

Note: The only thing missing ..... reminder sounds. Maybe next release?? (I hope)

the program works well, but the icons are nasty. I've spent the last 20 minutes in WinSCP trying to find the folder with the icons in them so i can change them... anyone know where they are?

Just replace the icons present on /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app using
exactly the same names:

Default_NCALL.png (missed calls)
Default_NSMS.png (recent sms)
Default_NVMAIL.png (recent voicemail)
Default_NMAIL1.png (recent mails)
FSO_NCALL.png
FSO_NSMS.png
FSO_NVMAIL.png
FSO_NMAIL1.png

Also, i'll release the next version with the reminder soon.
If you are willing to help with better icons (these are really bad, but i'm not a designer ), you can send it to my e mail address (alexandre@iblacklist.com.br). Thanks

This program is so much better than status notifier, that one had like a 30 second delay sometimes updating the icons. This one is instant.

I also couldn't stand the ugly icons, so I ripped the ones from status notifier.

It's attached below.

Just extract the zip and then SSH into your phone and put the Notifier Icons.theme folder in '/private/var/stash/Themes' and then apply it with Winterboard.

I didn't make these icons, so if the author wants me to take them down please let me know and I will take them down promptly.

@finagle69 For future reference, to find out where a program that you installed off of cydia keeps its files, open up cydia, tap manage, tap packages, tap on the program in question, and then tap on Filesystem Content and it will show you where it keeps all of its files.

Also, I couldn't get the voicemail icon to work. I had someone leave me a voicemail and instead of showing the voicemail icon it just showed the missed call icon. Is that a bug?

It will notify you for missed calls, unheard voicemails, unread messages and unread mails with sound and/or vibration as per your preferences settings + the ringer switch state in exactly after 1 minute than another in 5 minutes and then finally another in 10 minutes. Then it wont remind you anymore until the same event happens again. All of them with different sounds as your preferences say.

Wow, nice one Spektro. Works well! Will Notifier & Reminder be one app eventually?

Also, would it be possible to assign a new sound to each event?

ie a sound for missed calls, a sound for emails, etc.

- sorry, just re-read your post, and that is exactly what it will do.

Spektro

Congrats on an awesome app! Rips the ahem competition away :P

Spektro

Would you consider using these "default" icons as a theme option? Simply because it matches the icons you used in iBlacklist

Notifier is light weight status bar icon manager and reminder (this one on the next release). It uses mobile substrate, so it's not something that is constantly processing things on your device. Also, it does not mess with any of your settings and applications (no way for it to mess with your mobile push mail or whatever other mail, sms or call app), since it acts over notifications only and does not change absolutely nothing, just add features.
