Still VM icon issues
@Spektro - great app, don't construe this as criticism - just trying to help you perfect it. Minor issue.
When a missed call occurs I get a Missed call icon and VM icon if a voicemail is left. If i go to view the missed call first, the VM icon is cleared and the missed call icon remains when i leave the missed call page. Reviewing the VM then removes the mmissed call icon.
If i reverse these steps and review the VM first, the VM icon disappears as i move to the missed call screen (as it should), then the missed call icon disappears as it should.
Also if the phone is in airplane mode when a call is missed and VM left, the VM icon is not displayed. There is no missed call icon, but I expect this as the iphone phone badge does not reflect it either since the phone was off.
I am running 3.0 on iPhone 3G 8GB. Happy to troubleshoot any builds if you need more assitance. But minor issues and happy to wait if and when you put out another release. Thanks for my primary reason to jailbreak.

This happens because the mobilephone application modifies it's badge once you access the recents view, but only updates it's preferences property list when you change the view to any other, like dialpad or something.
Notifier uses the mobilephone property list to know when was the recents last viewd date, to retrieve the number of missed calls since that date, and finally compare to the badge number, in order to know how many calls corresponds to that badge number and consequently, how many voicemails you have, if that badge number is not equal to the number of missed calls since the date on the property list.
So, basically, when mobilephone updates it's badge but not the last viewed date of it's recents view, notifier will grab the same old count of missed calls because it doesn't know that the user accessed the recents view, leading to this problem.
In short words, it has no easy fix and it's just like that.
You are forgetting the main purpose of this application, which is to alert you have missed something.

@spektro,
Have you or anyone else tried Notifier under 3.1.2?
Most of the things don't work for me like lock screen icons, etc. I posted the question a while ago.
Thanks

The only thing that does not work on 3.1.2 on the current release is the icons on lock screen. Everything else IS working. I'm running 3.1.2
If any of you above that reported the problem with visual voicemail statusbar icon, i got somehing for you to test.
Just contact me on [email protected]

Well, repeat is not working on my iPhone. I set it to repeat every 1 minutes, I used the default tone and then tried changing it. Still I don't here my phone alert me for something I missed.
Thanks anyway for replying
Silly me ... I misunderstood the option ... Repeat is for how many times to alert me ... I needed to set Time interval for it to work ... I sincerely apologize

Well, if you have the word Disabled written on any part of your screen, it's a good reason to not repeat anything.
Repeat Mode - tells how many times it will repeat until it auto shutdown itself
Time interval - tells how many minutes to wait between repeats
If any of these are Disabled, then the reminder for this event is disabled.

I guess you missed my questions... When will this app support more Mail apps like mBox. Also, can you fix the issue with Battery Control?
-

wanted to thank you for solving icon overlapping problem, will try to buy your apps to support (just need to find one i can use
)
still hoping that if at some point you work out lockscreen icons on 3.1.2 you might be bothered to write GPush integration, like you do with IM/SMS programs.
thanks a lot one more time for a great app.

Multiple e mail clients support is already done, as well as the icons on lock for 3.1.2
I'm just waiting to check the solution for the problem with icons on statusbar for visualvoicemail (on top of this page)
hkhero
The battery control problem is something out of my range. If there's not enough room for icons, springboard needs to hide some of them. There's nothing that can be done over this. If you pay attention, you will see that on lock screen, the statusbar has a little more space, since the clock is not placed, but the lock icon is used instead, right in the middle of the statusbar, so there's room for more icons there.

But there is enough space. I only have the missed Call, SMS and the alarm there. And it does display all 3, but the Missed call icons disappears when I change the Battery from logo to Percentage. I've seen other with weather and a bunch of other icons on the status bar and it displays everything. I don't understand why mine can't even display 3..?

spektro, without this application, I probably wouldn't have bought an iphone. I don't care about the lockscreen icons (tho status bar icons are really usable), just need repeating alerts for text messages and calendar events.
Without Notifier, setting a reminder for a calendar event is basically useless. If I happen to be away from the phone the second it sounds (e.g. getting a coffee, bathroom break), I'll end up missing it. What was Apple (and most other manufacturers for that matter) thinking?

I agree, but for different reasons. If I have my phone on silent it takes way to many steps to see if I missed a call or an email. I have to swipe to unlock, then again enter my passcode to see that there is nothing on the badges. Doing this 10 times a day instead of just glancing at the status bar - what was Apple thinking - even after how many software revs?

Hi friends. The new version 3.1-1 is already available on Cydia.
It basically solves the icons on lockscreen for 3.1.2, adds multiple e mail support (as IM and SMS apps) and fixes the visual voicemail statusbar icon problem reported on top of previous page.
Let me know if any of you still have issues there, and thank you for all the support.
Oh yeah, this is the last time an update will reset all your setups there. I also included a non overwriting support to any previously installed setup file.Last edited by spektro; 10-15-2009 at 02:22 PM. Reason: No more reset on setup from this to next updates

great, testing yet everything is working flawlessly.
a bit confused with "bundle identifier" when trying to setup new email program to watch - where should i look for it?
-
10-15-2009, 02:53 PM #498
The bundle identifier is a unique string that identifies the application. When a badge is placed, it's the bundle identifier that points exactly what application is placing the badge. It may be different from the application name showed on springboard (that's the case for the ping app)
To find the bundle identifier, you need to look at the Info.plist file inside the application (.app) folder on your device filesystem.
Generally, it's some string like: com.something.somethingelse
Below is the Info.plist of ping app

thanks a lot, found it and tested - GPush is recognized and it shows as an icon on lockscreen.
the only issue for me is that it opens GPush when you click on it, while it would be just absolutely amazing if i could open basic mail app instead.
the idea of GPush that it provides very good push notify support for gmail - way better then recently added original via microsoft exachange, which is unreliable and rather slow.
but due to limitations its impossible for GPush devs to open mail app with their app - only as "compose a new message" which isnt the best option.
i guess it would be asking too much of you to make some solution especially for GPush (like opening mail.app instead of GPush on click) but it would make it absolutely perfect solution for gmail users.
anyway, thanks a lot for your hard work, as some people said reminder is an amazing tool and i dont want to imagine my iphone without it.
also could you please tell me an easy way to check for the list of your payed apps?

Notifier is not working at all for me with 3.1.2 jailbroken using blackra1n. It doesn't crash the phone, but it simply doesn't do anything. I don't get anything in the statusbar. Can anyone tell me what I can try? Should I restore and then jailbreak again?
Many thanks in advance.
