Thread: [RELEASE] Notifier 1.0

Hi spektro,
Statusbar icons are working.
Even with that.....I've deleted Winterboard and my themes, SBSettings, MySMS and Notifier. Only other Cydia app that remains is Cycorder. Re-installed MySMS and then only Notifier. Reconfigured both apps back how I had them. Reboot.
Still get the statusbar icons, but no sounds.

In this case, all can i say to you is:
Set the Time Interval for each event different from Disabled.

Try reinstalling mobile substrate, after that it works a couple of times for me, after going again to icon-only mode.

I think I have found the solution. Been testing it for about an hour....seems to have solved the problem of only having status bar notifications, and no sound notifications, no matter how Notifier and/or Settings sounds were 'set up'. Notifier is working again for me with Winterboard, and with the Talking Alerts theme. All options set via both preferences are being applied.
Won't bore you with the details of two restores this afternoon, along with all the reinstalls from Cydia, comparing permissions file by file, etc. etc.
Just SSH and go to:
/User/Library/Preferences/
then type:
chown mobile:mobile com.iDevBrTeam.Reminder.plist
and reboot your iPhone.
It seems that before changing the owner and group permissions on this file.....they are set to root:wheel
Fixing permissions via SBSettings didn't correct this.
If this helps anyone having the problem of no sound notifications, please report back.

Hey, if any of you guys would like to beta test the new version with user's sounds possibility hit me up on [email protected]
About the settings. It's backed up on iTunes, since it's on preferences folder. But when you sync it again next time, the brand new will overwrite the one that itunes backed up.
So manually get the file com.iDevBrTeam.Reminder.plist and replace it after the update.
Here's are some sounds that will surely work on your device:

I downloaded the new update in Cydia, but I don't understand what is new in it? Is it just bug fixes? I thought it would allow custom sounds how do I change those (if it does)?

Hey Spektro... Notifier (or Reminder as the names shows up in the Springboard?) is terrific... you should know it is THE reason that I jailbroke my phone!
The only issue I have is that if you are in the SMS application and receive a new message, the SMS indicator goes on and there is no way to get rid of it. There is no longer a badge on the SMS app, but the SMS reminder stays lit. Even if you enter and exit the SMS app it just stays on.
Other than that, your app rules and these features should definitely be part of the standard iPhone functionality.

Hey Spektro,
I've a strange thing happening with the current version:
If I have a missed call and I do not check the recent list in phone app (so badge and statusbar icon should remain), both notifications (badge & statusbar icon) will disappear after a while. I've tested this several times, not checking my recent list and it keeps happening.
Is it maybe on FW 2.2, that missed calls notifications are dismissed, if you use the phone app, even without checking the recents? Cos I'm pretty sure It wasn't like this before.
Or is it a notifier issue?
Anyone else experienced this?

Someone may have already requested this, but is there anyway to impliment a icon for AppStore updates? I really would like to see that in a upcoming version

Update to my issue:
Above things also happen if I set the statusbar icon for calls to off (badge disappears after a while).
And now the sms statusbar icon won't disappear, even though I have no unread messages. I use iRealSMS but it was working perfectly before....
Reinstalling notifier hasn't solved these issues.
Ideas anyone?

Spektro, please help....
I'm getting Phone and Mail repeated notifications alright, but not for SMS. I set delay interval to "1", but there are no notifications until 5 and 15 mins later, which is default repeat notification for SMS set by Apple. Could you point you what's problem I'm having?? I'm using iPhone FW 2.2 and once again, Missed Call and Mail notifications is working perfectly.
Thanks!!
P/s: could you add Calendar notification to Notifier, that would be awesome, isn't it??

Spektro, I have an issue that was mentioned before. It seems that when I receive an SMS (using the apple SMS client) and the app is open, that the status icon goes on and stays on. There are 2 ways to get it clear:
1. Lock the phone and wait for a new SMS to arrive, then when you open the app, the status bar icon will go away.
2. Respring.
It is ONLY persistent when you have the SMS app open when the new SMS arrives, not when you receive an SMS at any other time.
Thanks for the help in advance.

New version of Notifier (2.1) is about to be available on Cydia
* Instant Messengers support
* Possibility to edit wich applications will be monitored for SMS and Instant Messengers
* Added a statusbar icon for Unconditional Call Forward Active (Yes, the one present on Settings->Phone)
About the sms icon persistence, you can solve this by monitoring only one SMS application now. So to avoid this problem, remove all the entries on the SMS applications table and insert only the SMS software you are currently using.
