OK, found the problem. For the last 2 sounds on list (Bell and Electronic) the count is wrong. The plist shows 6 for Bell and 7 for Electronic, but the respective files are sms-received5.caf for Bell and sms-received6.caf for Electronic. So as a result, setting the Bell as your sound for new sms makes the reminder plays the Electronic and choosing Electronic makes no sound, since there is not sms-received7.caf file.
So this count is done by Apple, the following is the table, so you can clearly see the damage:

plist data ---------- Sound Name ---------- Filename

    ---- 0 ---------------- None ------------ sms-received0.caf
    ---- 1 --------------- Tritone ----------- sms-received1.caf
    ---- 2 ---------------- Chime ----------- sms-received2.caf
    ---- 3 ---------------- Glass ------------ sms-received3.caf
    ---- 4 ----------------- Horn ----------- sms-received4.caf
    ---- 6 ----------------- Bell ------------ sms-received5.caf
    ---- 7 ---------------Electronic -------- sms-received6.caf

The fix for this and the possibility to set different sounds will be available on he next update.

    Hi spektro,

Can you please show me how to disable/enable certain features (for i.e: I don't need Silent icon, or I don't want the Byline.app be integrated with, etc....).

I thought it could be done by editing a .plist file, but I didn't seem to find it anywhere. Please help!!

    Thanks!!!

Any of these any good? I can only lay claim to one of them (it's larger than it appears, it has a white border), another is a resized Buff2 SwirlyMMS icon and the other two were done my friend Rik based upon an MMS icon found in a Google search.

Graphics clearly aren't my area as you can tell

Just a small concern, and I'm not certain if this has been addressed...

Any chance on full support for BeejiveIM?

    Oh, it never ends...
Just sent the notifier 1.8, it shall be up tomorrow.
    New features are:

    * Sound setup for each thing
    * Silent icon use is programmable
    * MMS has it's own reminder and setup

Probably i'll add the IM support later on further versions.

Please test the MMS thing, as i don't use swirly, i didn't test it, but shall work with no problems.

Noticed an issue with the current release this morning, I still had the icon for a new SMS but I had read all of them. I think it might be linked to me using the call button on the SMS screen where you initiate a call directly after reading the SMS and not leaving the app. The icon was cleared after receiving another SMS and reading/closing the app normally.

Ok, just grab the atachment, unzip and place it on /Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries
    Then reboot the device.
    As i said, i didn't test it since i don't use mms.

Spektro, could you create a folder where we can put our own sounds to use. At the moment I'm changing the sms sounds to do this, but this is not ideal. Thanks.

    Spektro-

Noticed an issue with the SMS sound. I use iRealSMS and no matter what I set the sound to in the Settings app, I always get the default "Tri Tone" notification for new SMS when I am not in silent mode. I tried Pysl, iBlacklist, Status Notifier, as well as Intelliscreen. All are now uninstalled and I am just running Notifier. I really want to be able to set the SMS sound to "none" so that I can have my phone wake me up at night for a call, but not with every SMS or eMail. Is there a way to fix this quick?

It's not an issue, since it does not have to act over the new sms sound. You have your preferences to do this.
Neither iBlacklist should do it, since it read and execute exactly what your preferences say.
The sound setup present on this package is for reminder sounds only.

    @jrentzke

Yes. Actually, i'm thinking about a model to implement this, where people could create packages, all based in a simple plist that describes the sounds and paths + the sounds
But being a little busy with iBlacklist now. Hurry up the new update to this week.

    Hi Specktro

Just wondering if Notifier works with lockscreen html scripted widgets?

For example, if there is a missed call, the icon will not only show on the statusbar where the battery icon is but also show on the lockscreen

Cheers and as always, keep up your great work!

    Spektro, that sounds good thanks.

    Make it simple:
    - you create a folder where we can put sound clips into, eg.
    /var/mobile/Library/Reminder/Sounds/
    - Your program looks at the sounds in that folder, creates a list, and presents that as a sound to select for a specific reminder. (In addition to your current selection for sounds)

Then we don't have to create packages, plists, etc. Just put the sound in that folder then go & select it from a list in Notifier.

I'm having problems with the 1.8 update. Basically, Notifier stopped working for me completely.

On v1.7, using it only for missed calls, voicemail, and MySMS, it was doing everything perfect (intervals, repeats, etc), even co-existing with the Talking Alerts WinterBoard theme.

I've tried updating via Cydia (and then reconfigure). I've tried removing and re-installing (and reconfigure). I disabled the WB Talking Alerts theme. I even deleted the WB Talking Alert theme. Remove, re-install, Nothing helping. Also deleted MySMS and reinstall, and then re-install Notifier.

Any ideas? Is there some files scattered about that need to be deleted to start fresh that Cydia uninstall misses?

At least do you got the statusbar icon? If not, the library is not being loaded and probably some application you installed removed the MobileSubstrate load command.
Try to reinstall MobileSubstrate, then try to reinstall Notifier.
