Looks like the appstore app called "WiFinder" now it just needs the ability to connect to the networks directly from the app.

I heard well with the old srumbler on 1.1.4 that there was going to packet sniffing? Will this happen ?

Have you noticed stumbler uses "Location Services". If it's turned off, the nag message appears every time I use it. Would be nice to have an option to turn it off. Frankly, I see no reason to have it on .... WiFi is so distance limited anyway .....

This is a cool app but I don't see a purpose other than looking for hidden wireless networks that are open to hop onto. If someone is smart enough to hide their SSID, they typically have some security on it.
This program has potential tho. Adding ability to connect right to the networks from here would be awesome. Hopefully too, in the future they add a WEP cracking ability to it.

It seems that Stumbler Plus isn't work on the iPhone 4 under 4.0.1. Is anyone still developing the code?

I tried that, but the result is the same. The version 1.16r1 that is in the Cydia repo doesn't have any release notes since 1.15. Is there a newer version in another repo?

eWifi also doesn't work under 4.0. And Stumbler gave a lot of useful info for debugging WiFi problems.

There's a StumblerPlus 1.2r2 out there, but it's only for iOS 3.0. I think the author basically gave up developing it, which is a bummer because it was very useful.

I love stumbler plus because of its ability to save WAP names and view vendor info. Anyway, there's 2 ways to get 1.2 which works with even 4.2.1:
Add the repo here and install:
StumblerPlus - via iphoneMaa's Cydia Repository
-or-
Install from the existing repos, don't open, then.
Download the file here:
StumblerPlus for iPhone / iPod touch
And google for ifunbox to copy it to the iPhone. There will be a shortcut to system apps, that's where StumblerPlus will be.
You may need to turn wifi off and back on before it will scan.
