Yes, I was controlling an iPhone 3g with a 1.1.4 2g iPhone, using VNsea and Veency. To my pleasant surprise even the touchscreen controls worked.

I can tell you that with edge on AT&T, the phone is not assigned an exposed Internet IP address, which means you are behind AT&T's firewall and NAT server (think about how you usually have a 192.168.x.x IP at home).
The only way to make it work in that case, is for the "add new host" function to be added in VNC server on the iPhone, I wonder if that's currently possible in the terminal...

Veency and itunnel
Has any one been able to use Veency being connected via itunnel suite 2.7instead of wifi? I tried to connect to 127.0.0.1 and get "connection refused" .
I disabled vnc server running on my pc. If I ssh into my iphone and telnet to port 5900, I get the prompt on my iphone to accept or reject the connection (but still will not allow me to connect via vnc client).... but if I use vnc client it will not connect to 127.0.0.1 , but ssh will work for terminal and winscp... any thoughts?

It's very slow. It would be cool if we could play our games on the PC but most games just went to a black screen or if not didnt work control wise. Plus they were on the side.

Its just a VNC server. Its always slow since it continually updates the entire screen. The remote desktop protocol is great and faster but tough to get working on a unix based system.
It is a cool program tho if you are working on your computer and want access to your phone. I love it at work because I can text all day through my computer and not have to pick up my phone.

Thought that I would let you guys know, my phone crashed by trying to play a video on my phone through VNC. It entered into safe mode and then I just rebooted and everything was fine. Just thought Id let you all know so you dont do the same thing as me!
Also, I thought that I would ask if there is a way in the next version to disable the iphone's auto-lock feature when a client is connected, and re-enable it when the client disconnects.Last edited by dsmoot; 10-19-2008 at 09:44 PM.

I couldn't wait any longer for someone to figure out the solution to VNC into my iphone through iphone TUNNEL suite 2.7 - so I went ahead and figured it out myself!
now - I can TUNNEL via USB from my PC to my iphone, and connect to VNC using 127.0.0.1:5900 and my iphone pops up on my screen (with no wifi!!!)
how??
simple... navigate to iTunnel.exe (located in
C
Program Files\iPhone Tunnel Suite 2.7 BETA\iTunnel\
or whereever your PC stores iTunnel.exe
open a CMD prmt there and run iTUNNEL.exe like this
iTunnel.exe 5900 5900
thats it....
now launch your VNC client on your PC and make sure your phone is connected via USB, and type in 127.0.0.1:5900 and viola! your iphone screen shows up on your PC over USB not over wifi!!! and its MUCH faster! enjoy!!!
