Not really.

Make a folder called .icons in ~. Copy all the icons you love to this folder.

Make an alias in .profile like the one below (mine for rSBT):
alias iconrsbt='cp ~/.icons/rsbt.png /Applications/rSBT.app/icon.png'

then when you update, just hop into terminal:
iconrsbt
restart

that's it.
