Thread: Installer.app confusion...
08-25-2007, 04:31 PM #1
just curious but why doesn't my installer.app have any of the stuff that everyone is talking about, is it just cuz i'm connecting through edge? i was able to dl a few things directly off the edge network, namely the update for installer.app as well as launcher.app. both work very nicely and i am eternally grateful to the programmers, but what the hell is wrong with mine?

You have to install community sources.... that's where you get everything from.

it will check for updates whenever you open up installer.app.... it will then tell you what updates you need to install

If you wanna add some more stuff to installer, put this into your PackageSources.plist
Under PackageSources.plist add
Gives you the ability to switch themes and such on the fly without a PC

Be careful what themes you download though because I downloaded a theme that didn't display "Installer.app" on the homescreen.... and i had no way of getting to it so i ultimately had to restore the phone.

Anyway you could get perfection 2 with installer icon any any other icons you can grab for it like launcher
08-25-2007, 08:54 PM #9
^^^ya I can do that. Going to go eat right now, will do it when I get back.
I can't have a installer or launcher icon that will look the same as the rest of the theme unless I make one and I am not very good at that, lol. If you want to let me know what icons for those programs you would want or if you don't mind I can do it like all the other themes and make them hidden icons(they will be in the 4th row, two left spaces) then I can do it like that.

What does the available MB at the bottom of installer indicated. I supposedly have WAY more memory than is stated on this line.

Perfection 2 is up now but i cant seem to get rid of the text. The button above installer seems to do bg for alittle strip there and should cover buttons below it, it just doesnt let me know if anyone knows why

Is there some place where I can go to see what the themes look like before I install them?
Also, when I put the Original iPhone or Stock Theme on I can't see the installer.app. Is there no way to just not have a theme once you've used a theme, or were the original files overwritten and now i'll have to use one of these two?

On the themes that an installer icon wasn't made, I made a hidden Installer icon in the 4th row all the way to the left. Just tap there and it will come up. You should be able to go to a modified theme and back to stock(stock theme, not original theme, that one will restore your iphone to completely stock(carrier icons and such)). or another theme through everyone I have uploaded.
